We would like to encourage all OKILIFERS to consider making a donation of a new, unwrapped toy this Christmas season to be given to a less fortunate child in Okinawa. We love the Christmas season, and we pull out all the stops. It’s easy amidst all the holiday cheer to forget that many don’t have the money or resources for a big celebration. To a family in need it could make all the difference in the world to have a new toy to wrap and place under the Christmas tree for their child.
Help Oki and Hearts for Okinawa are once again holding their Annual Toy Drive. “Omocha” is the word for “toys” in Japanese and these local charities are in high gear rounding up toys to make sure everyone’s Christmas is special this year. Visit “Omocha for Orphans” Facebook Page where you can find drop off locations and other details on how to make a donation.
You can also visit Help Oki’s website to make a donation or to learn more about volunteer opportunities in Okinawa.
Omocha for Orphans is coordinated by Chris Nesbitt at Help Oki and Aubrie Owens at Hearts for Okinawa.
Please share this story and let’s all find it in our hearts to make this Christmas a wonderful one for everyone.
